Its very sad for a small child to commit suicide. This is because either there was no proper upbringing on the lass or lad from the tender age by the parents or by his or her guardians. On the other hand, there were no day to day watch out on the child since a parent should very well know his or her child in all aspects of moral and ethical traits and behaviour.
A standard six pupil from Kimai Primary School in Kanyarwanda district in Migori county conferred suicide subsequent to acknowledging she was pregnant.
Morine Juma, 12, hanged herself at her granddad’s homestead on Sunday, 1st of October 2017. One of her relatives said that it was simply after they took note that she was missing for a considerable length of time that they understood that one of the houses in their residence was bolted/ locked from inside.
“When the door was broken and we gained entry into the house, we were shocked to see the body dangling on a rope and a note lying beside her,” Ms Mary Wangare said.
According to Ms Mary Wangare, the suicide note indicated that life had become too hard for the pupil due to the pregnancy and that “she could no
longer continue living because her family members were too harsh on her.”
Below is a statement from Migori police boss Joseph Nthenge about the matter:-
“In the note that she left behind, she said that she was being frustrated by some of her relatives. On the fateful day, she locked herself in one of the houses in the compound and used a rope to commit suicide.”
Police have initiated an investigations to oversee on the causes if the suicidal incident that will involve questioning of the girl’s parents and relatives.
