Kenya’s President and his deputy have made news in just less that a week to the festive season of December 2017. This is after they made a visit to Baringo County amid the Kimalel Goat Sale. President Uhuru Kenyatta however did not attend the auction since he was in Bungoma County presiding in the graduation ceremony of Kibabii University.
There were 2,081 goats at a bargain and the two leaders of Kenya managed to purchase half of them all.
The DP William Ruto publicly announced that he managed to purchase 1,000 goats at a price of Sh12,000 each, making it ksh 12 million.
William Ruto additionally purchased 50 more goats for Sing’ore girls school in Elgeyo-Marakwet region. This is because the girls school managed to emerge as the bested school in the 2017 KCSE exams. The school, in a remote location of the district, rose to dramatically, beating more recognized national schools across the nation.
On the other hand, the current Governor of Baringo County Mr. Stanley Kiptis purchased 100 goats at Sh1.2 million.
The current year’s sale of the flocks saw Sh25 million being gathered from the deal in less than an hours time, which has never happened before for the past like 5 years.
