Government Sends Warning To All Kenyans In These Facebook Groups

With barely 23 days left to the August 2017 Kenya general elections that will take place on 8th August, more than 13 Facebook social media groups have been identified as crooked groups used to sustain abhor speeches on the internet.
The National cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) director, Francis Ole Kaparo, expressed that 13 of the groups were working on a national level while 36 were region based. The NCIC director affirmed that the commission had as of now captured five individuals for spreading inciting messages using their social media platforms.

“We will deal firmly with administrators of WhatsApp groups being/used to spread hate speech,” said Mr. Francis Ole Kaparo.
He, in any case, noticed that clients with pseudo names via web-based networking media were impeding the work of the commission to stem the disdainful posts yet he guaranteed that they would be found and dealt with.
The commission had before cautioned that Kenyans posting incendiary content on Facebook, Twitter and WhatsApp could confront a fine of up to Sh1 Million or a correctional jail term of five years if proposed directions to police are implemented.
These groups are as listed below;
