After clinching the Jubilee Alliance Party nomination in the primaries on Saturday Former Embakasi MP Ferdinand Waititu, seems to be a force to reckon with.
Waititu won the JAP ticket with a landslide win of more than 14,000 votes.
Upon his victory MPs and ward representatives opposed to Governor Kabogo’s policies immediately aligned themselves with the combative politician.
MPs Kimani Ichung’wa (Kikuyu), Alice Ng’ang’a (Thika), John Kiragu (Limuru) and Esther Gathogo (Ruiru) were among the first people to congratulate Mr Waititu when they visited the tallying centre in Kabete Constituency.
If Mr. Waititu happens to clinch the Kabete Parliamentary seat, that fell vacant following the killing of George Muchai in Nairobi last month, he is expected to shake up county politics.
Mr. Waititu who had contested for Nairobi gubernatorial seat, has indicated that come 2017 he will vie for Kiambu gubernatorial seat instead.
This will cause heated political temperatures in the county if the current governor William Kabogo seeks another term.
