Police on Tuesday gunned down a needed fear suspect, Ismail Mohammed Soshi, in Kisauni, Mombasa County. The suspect was shot dead at around 11.30am when police struck a rental house in Mwandoni.
He is said to be an individual from a hit squad that focused on police officers. He was blamed for slaughtering a National Intelligence Service officer Hashim Salman in July a year ago. As per Kisauni OCPD Richard Ngatia, the suspect had moved into the house two days back.
Mr Ngatia said, the suspect shot at them when police assaulted the house. He was murdered in the trading of flame that resulted.
“We have recovered a G3 rifle that he is suspected of stealing from an officer he and others killed,” said Mr Ngatia.
Hundreds rounds of ammo and a dread instructional booklet which he had been utilizing to escape police trawl were likewise recuperated, said to Mr Ngatia.
