CORD Party of Kenya headed by Mr. Raila Odinga was throughout the week touring the western region of Kenya where they camped for more than a week making it up for their rejuvenation from supporters.
While their supporters were over enthusiastic of his tour in the western parts of the country,some of their supporters were involved in some misconduct. In one occasion that was on Wednesday, Moses Masinde, a K24 cameraman, was beaten and harmed by young men in ODM party Leader Raila Odinga’s escort at Port Victoria in Busia County.
Other than his harmed camera, Mr Masinde likewise lost Sh10, 000 and a telephone which was later recouped by the police.
On Thursday, ODM executive of correspondence Philip Etale in a explanation apologized to Mr Masinde.
Mr Etale included that he would bring up the matter with his manager and further asked for photograph confirmation of the occurrence.
“For action to be taken, I request any journalist with a photo or video showing the faces of the said ‘security’ men to produce it for easy identification,” he further stated.
In a grievance to ODM and the Media House of Kenya, K24 had expressed that the tape inside the camera was yanked out and decimated.
The media house had claimed that while all the columnist was being ambushed, Mr Odinga’s security point of interest watched without reacting to the columnist’s supplication for help.
Mr Masinde has subsequent to been dealt with and recorded an announcement with the police at Port Victoria Police Camp.
