Kalenjins Warned not to Poison their ‘Blood of Athletics’ by Marrying Kikuyus, Luo’s, Kamba’s etc
According to the website that ran the story, this is what was posted. Here is the article that appeared on the blog:-
Members of the Kalenjin community have been warned not to intermarry with other communities in Kenya so as to maintain their athlete genes. The Athletics Kenya Chairman, Isaiah Kiplagat, warned the Kalenjin men and women not to intermarry with other communities or else they will lose their blood of athleticism.

Speaking during the homecoming party of Kenyan athletes who took part in the just concluded IAAF World Championship in Beijing China, Kiplagat said that if the Kalenjin intermarry with other tribes they will ‘poison their blood”.
Kiplagat supported his notion noting that Kenya has been experiencing defeat from Ethopians for the last ten years because Kalenjins intermarried with other tribes who are poor performers when it comes to athletics.
On the other hand, David Epstein, has revealed why Kalenjin men and women are the best athletes in the world.
The British sporting journalist has spend a
considerable time in Kenya and says that the reason behind Kalenjins massive victory in athletics has to do with physiology. He claims that their ancestry at very low altitude in hot and dry climate makes them to have long limbs relative to their body size with very narrow outer extremities. “This is an evolutionary adaptation for cooling.
And because the leg is like a pendulum, the
longer it is and the less weight there is at the outer end, the more energy-efficient it is to swing”. Epstein was quoted by The Guardian
