As per the recent past, there have been numerous mishaps on the Kenyan roads. However, the traffic police are working out on the ways to reduce such incidences so as to save pubes of the Kenyan citizens. News has it that at least 14 individuals have perished as others have remained injured after an Administration Police (AP) vehicle they were travelling in rolled in Moinonin along Marigat-Loruk road in Baringo North Sub-County by mistake or fault.
According to the AP Commandant of Baringo Sub-County region Mr. Robinson Ndiwa, the incident happened in the afternoon roughly at 1.30pm in the afternoon of 9th December 2017, that was on a Saturday. This follows after the driver of the lorry apparently lost control hence the vehicle veered off the road and rolled over.
“It is very unfortunate because we have lost lives in the tragic accident.
“Thirteen adults and one child have been confirmed dead while three police officers are critically injured and have been taken to Baringo County Referral Hospital in Kabarnet for specialised treatment,” Mr. Ndiwa mentioned.
According to Mr ndiwa, there were numerous people in the vehicle and at least five police officers too.
“The police officers stationed at Kapedo had gone to Marigat Town to buy foodstuffs and were involved in the accident [while] on their way back to Kapedo,” he told Nation .
The bodies of the deceased were transferred to Baringo County Referral Hospital mortuary after the incident occurrence minutes after.
