Numerous bloggers across the nation have been finding themselves in hot soup with the administration following a number of their social media posts and comments for the past 5 years. Blogger Robert Alai was captured on Friday morning and confined overnight at Kamukunji police headquarters.
Mr Alai was captured at 9am as he was leaving for the entombment of the late IEBC ICT director Chris Msando in Siaya County.
Mr Alai is the Chairman of Nyayo Estate Residents Association, where Mr Msando lived with his family, and was supposed to give a speech at the memorial service in Lifunga town.
He was arrested days in the wake of spilling photographs of individuals from the Kenyatta family in a Nairobi hospital.
The photographs showed President Uhuru Kenyatta’s mom, Mother Ngina Kenyatta, and uncle, George Muhoho, in a sorrow state of mind at the hospital late during the evening.
The photos were however unexplainably pulled down from Mr Alai’s Facebook page hours after he had posted them.
