According to the reports from the Sugar Production Companies in Kenya, the prices of Sugar at the wholesale and retail prices might shoot up anytime from today, 18th July 2016. This follows after the quantity of sugarcane sent the production companies went down by almost half the previous supply that they had years before.
West Kenya Sugar Organization has raised the cost of sugarcane for its ranchers from Sh3,200 per ton to Sh3,400, making it the most elevated paying mill operator in western district, a move that could reignite value wars among plants working in the zone.
The firm declared the new installments Sunday pushing out different mill operators, for example, Mumias Sugar Company (MSC) which pays Sh3,275 a ton, Butali sugar Sh3,200 while Nzoia Sugar Organization pays Sh3,000.
As per West Kenya head of Horticulture Paramasiram Praba Karan, the move is intended to draw in more agriculturists to convey the crude material to the industrial facility to empower it work ideally.
