Talking amid the presentation of honors to Uchumi clients who took part in the Toboa Maisha na Uchumi advancement, CEO Jonathan Ciano said the retail network would open four extensions in Kenya, three in Rwanda, four in Tanzania and one in Uganda.
Uchumi will open its entryways in Limuru and Naivasha on March 1, and in Ukunda, Kwale County, an extension will open by April 1.
An alternate extension will open at Kenyatta University’s primary grounds on June 1.
“We utilized our rights issue to set up the extensions. We said the rights issue was not for some other thing yet a working capital improvement,” Dr Ciano said.
The Tanzanian extensions will open by June, and the last by December 2015, while foremen are putting last touches on the Rwandan limbs.

Uchumi has through the years been performing great and was in 2011 re-recorded on the Nairobi Securities Exchange following five years of suspension.
It is the main retail market exchanging its imparts at the Nairobi bourse.
