Wakenya: Entrepreneur man wants to back iconic Tree Top brand
Popularly known as Mr. Bernard Njoroge, aged 43-year-old is the man behind the resurrection of the long ago juice brand Tree Top. Benard njoroge is a former director at juice processor Del Monte Kenya.
It is rumoured that the entrepreneur has
set aside Kenya Sh500 million for his tree top project.
Mr Njoroge’s firm, Sky Foods Limited, will produce five flavours of Tree Top which include orange, mango, apple, tropical and a mix of strawberry and banana. The business has been financed through an equity stake by the Industrial and Commercial Development Corporation (ICDC) —a government backed agency that
finances small and medium enterprises to accelerate their growth.
ICDC has taken a Sh100 million equity stake in the company. Several other investors have taken up different stakes in the firm. Mr. Njoroge declined to reveal their identities or the size of their investment even besides having up to 600 employees. More news to follow.
